 EMPOWERING YOUNG PEOPLE:
"Environmentally friendly and carbon reducing farming methods should be disseminated to the next generation so they can become agents of change in their environments and improve their livelihoods". These words were said by Janeth Maro founder of sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT).  SAT is a farmer training network which has empowered almost 1000 young people since 2011 and is currently working with 33 youth groups across the country. The groups receive training in ecological agriculture and/or poultry keeping as well as food processing and value addition business and entrepreneurship skills. These off farm activities are highly lucrative for young people.

 CREATING MORE YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS
'African Youth are tapping into technological change and innovative market solutions, transforming the agricultural sector across the value chain' Nevertheless, Africa's youth unemployment is still a cause of concern. Agribusiness and entrepreneurship are two critical areas which have a strong potential to increase employment   opportunities for youth and reduce rural urban migration.

Similarly ICTs help modernize agriculture and provide new employment opportunities and attract more young people to the sector.
